Brought up in his father's engravers shop in Torre del Greco, where works in coral, ivory and shell were made, Alfredo Molli soon became interested in the art of the crib. Taking as a model the antique creations of the great Neapolitan tradition, he went as far as establishing an activity that has found wide recognition on the market. From his experience of making the figures with a polychrome terracotta head, glass eyes and limbs carved in lime-wood, in a detailed and patient work; he has been occupied as a teacher in adult courses for the restoration of figures from cribs, restoration of wood and of gifts for cribs. |
