Alfred Molli's laboratory, situated in Scafati ( Salerno
), is one of the most known and esteemed handicraft
workshops in the art of Christmas Crib.
The artist himself produces his Crib statues ( the
so-called "pastori") the animals and everything
we can found in the Napolitan Crib following the Eighteen
        century Neapolitan Christmas Crib school.
The heads of the statues are made of polychrome
terracotta with the eyes of glass, instead, hands and
feet are made of limetree wood with the carving
        technique.
The statues are dressed with precious fabrics following
        the Eighteen century's fashion.
The animals are made of polychrome terracotta or wood.
This work is a mix of patience, competence and technique.
This work is a mix very few artist in Naples still going
on with this kind of handicraft art.
