PROLOGUE:We think that it is
interesting, for our readers, to read a page drawn from an eighteenth-century work about
San
GaetanoTiene's life, who was a man of the first rank in

the development of devotion towards Neapolitan crib. San Gaetano is one of the co-patron saints of Naples and his bust appears at the Neapolitan urban doors to remember his patronage in favour of city on the occasion of some plagues that periodically tormented it and caused the escape of citizens.
This work that it is present in the library of the Church of S. Maria della Sanità, popularly called " Chiesa d'o munacone" (that is San Vincenzo Ferrer) was brought to my attention by rev. don Giuseppe Rasello, who in that period was priest of this church that today it is one of the most crowded churches of
Naples. In the next issues we will speak about this church, an excellent monument of the sacred architecture of
Naples, and Don Giuseppe Rasello's work
